2024 Food Justice Walk
Location
1500 E Park Place
Milwaukee, WI 53211
United States of America
Description
Last year, the inaugural Food Justice Walk was such a success, Tikkun Ha-Ir has made it an annual event!
Sign up to hike around beautiful Riverside Park, a forest in the heart of the city to raise funds to support THI's food justice work through Veggie Chop Shop, a community meal program that utilizes gleaned or donated produce to prepare delicious vegetarian meals for free to those in need.
The event will include a short, ADA and stroller-compliant route and a route with more "rugged terrain" for those looking for exercise! This is an event for all ages and abilities. Whatever "family" means to you, bring them along! There will be snacks, a short presentation, and then the walk will begin at 9:30am. We’ll also be honoring Mark Shapiro and his family for their years of volunteerism with THI and in the larger community. Rain plan is to enjoy the UEC indoor attractions.
Featured speaker: Rabbi Joel Alter from Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid
T-Shirts are available for this event! Register HERE or with the link above to get your Food Justice Walk 2024 shirt!
